Afraid to Fail?

Your Goal For Today: To Fail
If you ever wonder why some people are just better at something like selling cars or meeting potential mates than you – or just better at getting what they want – it’s likely because they have a higher tolerance for failure.
In other words, you don’t fail nearly enough. Your goal today is to fail. This is also your goal tomorrow and the next day. You need to fail at something every day until you learn that nothing ever stings as bad or as long as you think it will.
You’re afraid to approach your boss for a raise, why? Because she could say no? Okay, then what? Does she begin laughing loudly in your face, inviting your coworkers to join her? Do you whither and die? Does she fire you for asking?
None of the above.
Life goes on. The sun still rises and sets; and you tried something and it didn’t go your way.
Congratulations! You achieved today’s goal!
Is there a certain someone who’s caught your eye? Someone you’d like to take for coffee or more?
Walk up to him or her right now and say this: “Hey, would you like to grab a cup of coffee sometime?” Now smile through your terror and wait for a response.
Congratulations! You’re going on a date! No one ever says no to “a cup of coffee sometime;” and if they did, so what? The world keeps spinning.
The fear of failure is so strong for some that overcoming it might be the biggest shit sandwich you’ve ever consumed. If so, I can guarantee that if you achieve your goal of failing at least once per day for the rest of your life, you will be the happiest person on earth.
